Cream Puff!

I picked these up in boots whilst the 3 for 2 offer is on. I heard a lot of good review about these and wanted to try them out myself. I originally went to get the nude colour as i don't actually own a nude lipstick (shock! and technically, i still don't). I prefer my lipstick to be bright, or a 'my lips but better' colour. If I'm honest, nude lipsticks always scared me, i always felt like i'd put concealer on my lips (not a good look!). But anyway, i thought, since the 3 for 2 offer is on in boots, i might as well get 3 out of the 4 colours.

"Velvety soft, matt finish lip cream"

The colours i got.

Swatches, in order: Cotton Candy 1, Powder Puff 2, Fairy Cake 3.

Cotton Candy 1 on my lips.

Powder Puff 2 on my lips.

Fairy Cake 3 on my lips.

They're actually quite a strange product if I'm honest. To me, and based on how they perform on my lips, they're a cross between a lipstick and a lipgloss. looking in the mirror there isn't a gloss to it, they have a matte finish but the reason i think they're a bit like a lipgloss is how they apply. They have a doe foot applicator, in case you were wondering.

They're like a lipstick because of the pigmentation, especially with the brighter colours, I don't feel the need to dip it back in the tube at any point, however i did find i had to do this with the nude colour. I think this was due to the product being slightly thinner in consistency, I'm not sure why that is though.

I'm not sure about the wear of these throughout the day as i haven't tested this yet, but i have cotton candy on my lips now, and i just ate my tea and it didn't rub off at all. I wouldn't say they're particularly 'moisturising' as it says on the tube, if anything, they're a little drying, and tend to show up on cracked lips, so I'd wear a lip balm underneath (i do this with anything i wear on my lips most of the time anyway).

If anyone has any of the topshop cream blushers, put them on your lips and you'll get a feel of how the cream puffs feel on your lips. I think that's probably the best way to describe it. If you don't have any of the topshop cream blushers, then you're probably best just testing these out in the shop.

I hope they end up bringing more colours out because i think they're a great product. They have 4 colours in total, the three i bought and one called 'Angel Delight' (i think), which is basically a darker version of powder puff, and probably a bit more wearable on darker skin tones.

I actually like the nude one as well, surprisingly! It looks great with a dark smoky eye!

They retail at £2.99 and i think they're great for the price. I know i'll get a lot of use out of them :)

Sorry for a pretty long post, hope you don't mind, thanks for reading!

Love Amy x

  5. Fairy Cake looks so nice! I have the darker nude shade, I'm a bit wary of pale lips too, but I find it pretty wearable. I'm wishing I'd got Fairy Cake now though! x

  19. I've never heard of this brand before. What a cute name. It's hard for me to find lipsticks that are pigmented enough so I'm glad when you said these were. =P
